On September 7-8, 2023, Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, became a global hub for diplomacy. The city hosted the 10th consultative meeting of Honorary Consuls of Mongolia, drawing participation from 46 consuls representing 33 countries.
The Central Theme: New Innovation Policy
The meeting wasn't just a routine gathering; it was a focused discussion under the theme of 'New Innovation Policy.' This theme aligns with Mongolia's vision to foster innovation in various sectors.
A Panel of Experts
The meeting saw participation from various Mongolian ministries including Economy, Development, Environment and Tourism, Justice and Internal Affairs, Culture, Labor and Social Protection, and Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media. Representatives from these ministries provided insights into the ongoing projects and future plans under the 'New Innovation Policy.'
Business and Investment Opportunities
In addition to the consultative discussions, the Mongolian Business Council organized a business meeting aimed at the Honorary Consuls. The meeting served as a platform to discuss business and investment opportunities in Mongolia.
A Brief History
Mongolia appointed its first Honorary Consul in 1992. Fast forward to today, and Mongolia has a network of 75 Honorary Consuls working in 49 countries.
Estonia-Mongolia Digital Cooperation
The Honorary Consul to Mongolia based in Estonia, Liisi Karindi, had a follow-up discussion with Ms. Battsetseg Bataa, State Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Development and Communication. They discussed further support for Estonian-Mongolian cooperation in the field of digitalization.
